United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Sadly the bus won't help you - it stops at the B-3 concourse (B60-68, where LH/SK etc depart) but SQ uses B-2 (B51-58) where the VS lounge is. Of course SQ hasn't flown to EWR since 2020 so this may change when they resume flights, but I wouldn't count on it

The VS Lounge in EWR has closed permanently thus when SQ returns, it would be surprising to see which concourse they would resume operations from.

Yes, I know. But it seemed silly at the time. Basically, I posted about my anxiety about a 45 minute connection D-I, but seconds later when I checked my ticket the flight had a schedule change and the connection went to 90 minute. So there wasn’t much to learn in this instance. But yes I do normally agree with you. 😊

Have two options on my return from LHR next month. Flying PP on both and cabins look pretty open for both options right now:
1) 8am departure from LHR with a 2:52 hour layover at EWR to connect on to RDU
2) 935am departure from LHR with a 1:27 hour layover at EWR to connect on to RDU
Same RDU flight for both. Not planning to stay near LHR so the 8am departure will require a pretty early departure from London which is the main drawback

Have two options on my return from LHR next month. Flying PP on both and cabins look pretty open for both options right now:
1) 8am departure from LHR with a 2:52 hour layover at EWR to connect on to RDU
2) 935am departure from LHR with a 1:27 hour layover at EWR to connect on to RDU
Same RDU flight for both. Not planning to stay at the airport so the 8am departure will require a pretty early departure from London.

Without those, the 2:52 would be a better choice.
Usual caveats...how important you arrive at RDU vrs backup options that would be available, etc.
