United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Does anyone know if the airside shuttle from Terminal C to Terminal B is currently running? I will be arriving on UA mainline domestic and connecting to LH.

you will have to leave airside and re-clear security at B.
staff had no info on if it will ever change back to service B again.

I have a connection time of 40 minutes going from an E170 to a B737-900. I am in First and I know UA would not have put me on a flight where I would not be able to make the connection but I cannot tell if these will be in the one terminal or not. Any insights? TIA.

The app and United.com have been mostly right-on with reopenings, so I trust this. It also lines up with some of the reports of "in a few weeks" that came in response to my inquiries during the month of October. Reportedly, Terminal A is now GoJet-exclusive, with Republic focused in Terminal C. I have a CRJ550 flight coming up in a few days, so I'll report back, but hopefully we have some other members in there sooner.

With Republic, you'll most likely use gate 87 or 88 in Terminal C. 87 will only fit a regional jet whereas 88 will fit a 737-900, but the waiting area is tiny so they tend to put the regional jets there.

Curious. Does anyone know if the MCTs have changed for connections to the Terminal B airlines now that the intra-terminal bus has discontinued service to B?
Could be a nasty surprise for someone on a tight, though legal, connection.

I was at EWR yesterday, trying to go from C to B to visit the LH/SK lounges. I tried to take the shuttle and they said no and that the shuttle was only operating to A from C. I was advised to take the AirTrain.

That was my experience about 3 weeks ago out of EWR. C to A, but not C to B. To get to B, passengers were told to leave the secure area and cross outside.

Weird. I was at EWR on Sunday and they asked me which terminal I was going to - A or B - so they could point me to the right bus. The people outside asked me the same thing.

Is it possible this inconsistency could be due to time of day (ie. C->B only operates certain hours)?
