United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. So UA has given me a choice of either a 1:15 I to D UA-UA connection, or a painful 7:00 (6h, 57 mins to be exact) layover. Not really enthused about the 1:15 after a long travel day, and getting stuck in the back of a regional because I missed my connection. Even less enthused about spending a night and getting put on a 6am flight the next morning. How reasonable is 1:15, and if it isn't, why would they even consider listing it?

In addition to LondonElite's post, it's helpful to know date of travel. Right now, all international arrivals are at Terminal B which adds a little bit of time versus just arriving Terminal C (assuming your connection is from C) but that will change when traffic returns. Check this website for immigration time statistics. You'll see that average wait times at EWR B are under 10 minutes, even for non-US citizens.

Im not sure I’d want to make any predictions about travel almost a year from now. With luggage, however, this is a bit more problematic.

There have been times when it has taken up to 45 minutes to get my bags at EWR B international arrivals. That obviously makes a 1:15 connection very hard...

If I were forced to choose, I'd go with the 1:15 connection, figuring there's a good chance that one of those changes would open up options to rebook onto other flights with more comfortable connection times.

Just got a schedule change for a connection at EWR.
29 minutes.
Arriving from YUL (pre-cleared so basically a domestic arrival) and connecting to RSW.
Anybody know what the legal MCT is is at EWR for a domestic connection?

Flights from YUL usually park at Terminal A; while flights to RSW usually departs from Terminal C, so a terminal is likely required. There is an airside shuttle bus running between these two terminals.

My question is more: If 29 minutes in under the MCT, I can contact UA and modify the reservation without incurring any fees. If not, need to have a plan B for a missed connection because of a delay departing out of YUL. In January... which is quite likely.
I'm sur there,s a later flight and I'll be protected. Just want to know if I can seek other options.
