United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 5:00am to 10:00pm. In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers), but not in the opposite direction. The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Please note this shuttle is operated at the sole responsibility of United Airlines and is subject to modification at their discretion.

I've seen people pass that point of no return and then try and swim back upstream to get into the UC. It's very easy to miss the turnoff, especially when there is a horde of pax streaming off a recently arrived flight in that pod.

Of course it being Jersey, the guards show no mercy to those who cross the line and want to get back in - it's back to the TSA line-up for screening for them!

It's a great club - the luxury of fewer crowds.

Rediscovered it thanks to the terminal C security issues.

Is it me, or was there a UA club somewhere else in Newark? Was that in a different pier of A or was it over in B?

The signage is terrible, and as others have posted above, the entrance is in that no-man's-land area where anybody not looking to exit the security area would be wandering.

It reminds me of some of the freeway signs in Los Angeles: Freeway that way, and then when you get to where the sign directed you, you cannot find the freeway on-ramp, and before you know it, you're about to pass right underneath the freeway.

Checking in at EWR

Hi - I have a flight out of Terminal A at Newark today. Was thinking of checking in at Terminal C (I can use the GS check in) and taking the shuttle over. Anyone ever done this? The check in at A is less than great.

I have done this to use Pre-Check in Terminal C when my flight is from A. Talk your way through if any of the blue coats try to dissuade you.

As GS you can check-in through dedicated GS check-in counters at C-2, which takes you through to the right side of C-3 and puts you ahead of the C-3 TSA-Pre line.
The wait shouldn't be too bad that way. This should be possible. Not sure of shuttle wait times though. Mercedes tarmac service maybe?

Would love to take the Mercedes, but so far it's been as present and mythical as a unicorn. I understand others have seen it though.

The shuttles run every 10 minutes. I'll try it and report back later.

Hoping my GS status will carry some weight with this approach. Besides, if I find myself at C, what would they expect me to do - walk over?

Exactly, even for EWR and UA that is unlikely.

Wasn't aware of Mercedes scarcity, interesting!

I'm not GS, but used to do this in EWR so I could use pre-check and get some famous Famiglia or other decent food before heading over to Terminal A. Security never cared - never batted an eye.

Of course, now the only reason for this is pre-check - now that they "re-imagined" all the decent and decently priced food out of C, not sure there is any better options than A anymore.
