MCT for EWR (2012)
https://www.newarkairport.com/at-airport/connecting-flights
United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Please note this shuttle is operated at the sole responsibility of United Airlines and is subject to modification at their discretion.

Even with no GE or Pre, I think 2h50 should be more than sufficient for an EWR transfer. Obviously things can get tight if the first flight is delayed, but that's true with basically any itinerary.

Can I use shuttle bus from C to A and back to C, just to go to maple leaf lounge, even though I am flying in and out from C gates (UA)?
Only thing I'll note for the folks taking the Terminal C-to-Terminal A buses - with the completion of the boarding station next to Gate 71, there are fixed desks/podia for red coat types who insist on being boarding pass Nazis and want to see your pass.
This may/can slow you and everyone else making the transition out to the buses.
FWIW.
David

No. The shuttle does not serve the pier of A that the MLL is located in. The MLL is located in the pier that has all of the LCCs (and Air Canada). The three piers of A are not connected to each other airside.

Transiting EWR tomorrow YYZ-EWR-LIM
Family and I will be flying UA and transiting EWR for the first time tommorrow. Looks like our YYZ-EWR flight will arrive at either terminal A or C and Departure on UA1095 will be from Terminal C.
I would assume if we arrive at Terminal C, having pre cleared in YYZ there is no issue and wouldn't have to re-clear security in EWR.
If we arrive in Terminal A as this morning's flight UA4228, will we have to re-clear security to move from Terminal A to Terminal C in EWR.
We will have carry on only if that makes any difference.
Any help is appreciated, just want prepare the family if we have to re-clear security as I hear it is a bit of a nightmare at EWR.

There is an airside bus that will take you to Terminal C if you do arrive at A. You will preclear at YYZ, there won't be any extra security to go through at EWR, as long as you don't exit the A terminal to go landside.

Short connection time - EWR - question
Have never been to or thru EWR but in mid February 2019 am looking at returning from EZE to the west coast with a connecting flight in in EWR with a connection time of only 1 hour 10 minutes (arrival EWR early morning). Will be travelling in J, have checked luggage and also have global entry.
I am guessing there will probably be a terminal change but don't know. Anyone familiar with EWR think this might be doable? Thanks!
BTW-I originally posted this question on AA board by mistake!

You might make the connection. I certainly wouldn’t count on it. Remember that UA can declare you a no-show 15 minutes prior to departure, so if the inbound flight is on time, you have 55 minutes to deplane, go through immigration, wait for your bags to be unloaded, go through customs, re-check your luggage, go through security, and walk to the gate.
Keep in mind that UA is perfectly willing to sell the last J/F seat for a TOD, so if you do miss your flight, you may find yourself in Y, or waiting for quite a while.

The West Coast is a big place and UA serves many West Coast destinations from EWR, so it is a little tough to advise here. But, if you are headed to SFO/LAX which have multiple services, I would book the later service and then ask to be rebooked on the earlier service at baggage recheck. If it is available, all the better. If not, it's a couple of hours.
The converse is not true. While there will likely be a seat on the next flight, it might be a middle seat in E-.

Advice cutting to close?
Flying UA 87 PVG-EWR scheduled arrival 620P
Connect to BOS UA 994 7:59PM could have opted for U2323 at 8:50P
My experience for most of my flights to LAX and SFO from PVG has been good except for weather delays they are mostly early flying east, am doing this for the first time in a couple weeks.
I will be all carry-on and have global entry as well.

Sufficient connection time for SFO-EWR-YHZ (Halifax)?
About two months from now, my wife might fly SFO-EWR-YHZ in economy, with just a carry-on. She'd depart SFO at 11:30 pm, arrive EWR at 7:40 am and then depart EWR at 9 am. Both flights would be UA (well, EWR-YHZ would be United Express). A couple of questions:
1. Is the 1.20 sufficient connection time?
2. I get a bit confused about the immigration pre-clearances between the USA and Canada. She has Global Entry but not Nexus. Am I correct in assuming that, aside from UA checking her passport, she wouldn't deal with immigration until arriving in YHZ?
Thanks for any help.
