MCT for EWR (2012)
https://www.newarkairport.com/at-airport/connecting-flights
United Airlines operates an "air side" shuttle bus between Terminals A and C from 4:00AM to 12:00AM (midnight). In addition, United also operates a shuttle bus connecting Terminals A and C to terminal B (pier 3, used by Star Alliance carriers) from 1:00PM to 11:00PM, but not in the opposite direction (shuttle does not board at Terminal B). The shuttle bus is available at gate A28 and C70 as illustrated in the image above. The shuttle drops off passengers at the terminal B through the service entry, that requires walking up 2 flights of stairs - there is no elevator. Only the front bus doors will open for alighting at terminal B.This service is free and you will not have to go through TSA security again. Please note this shuttle is operated at the sole responsibility of United Airlines and is subject to modification at their discretion.

This is cruise related. I'm considering RDU-EWR-SJU or RDU-IAH-SJU but neither are good options. Goal is to pick up a cruise departing SJU. Dates are Dec 13, 2019 to Dec 21. Am I crazy for thinking about going through EWR in winter? I plan to go a day early. I have checked Delta and their prices are ridiculous. I'll check Orbitz next.

I would fly on a LOT flight to Warsaw soon on Business Class which would depart at Terminal B. However, I want to use the Polaris Lounge so I would clear security at Terminal C and then take the intra-terminal shuttle bus.
My question would be, does the priority security lanes at Terminal C recognize partner boarding passes ( *G or J class ). As I would stop by the check-in desks, the boarding pass would be on LOT stock. Or, as my flight isn't on United, I would be sent back to the regular lane?

Was pleasantly surprised yesterday on my transit through EWR. Getting through Immigration and Customs and even Security was surprisingly fast, about 25-30 minutes, despite having a couple clowns ahead of me in the Mobile Passport line (first one spent a good 5+ minutes talking to the agent before clearing and the other one pulled out paper before getting escorted to a room for what I assume was a secondary screening). The TSA agents in Security had a number of snide comments about my attempts to keep multiple trays fairly close together (had to use separate trays for laptop, other electronics, travel vest, and carryon) and about people not placing the trays in the receiving bin when they were done but the screening went fairly fast so no complaints.
I had been dreading a 2:20 layover because my last trip through EWR took 90 or so minutes just to get my bags and through Customs before rushing for my connection but this time I even had time to grab a bite to eat, several sodas, and even a shower in the Polaris Lounge and still make my connection (albeit that was aided by a 20 minute delay in my departure time). The Polaris Lounge was pretty open and empty when I first walked in but filled up fast after I got my snack. I was thankful to have had my GPU clear into Polaris on the LIS-EWR leg so I could use the very convenient Polaris Lounge rather than trying to go to Lufthansa lounge and then get back for my connection.

Intl to Intl Terminal C EWR Transfer Times
Hi All,
I am on UA4117 from YQB to EWR and then UA64 from EWR to LIS next week and the there is only approximately a 1.40 hour connection time, worried that my first flight may be delayed and miss my connection, long immigration lines ! and then collecting and rechecking bag to LIS.
I am Premier Platinum, but not sure that will help !.
Any advice appreciated.
regards
RGMD11

1. 1'40" is indeed a tight connection when arriving internationally. I know that some of the Canadian airports do border control at the departing airport. I don't know if YBQ is included in that list, but it will be extremely beneficial if it does.
2. Regardless of the fact that it's a tight connection, UA sold you the ticket and they are responsible for getting you from A to C. If you miss-connect, your worse case scenario is that you will be placed on standby for the next day's flight.
3. Have a list of options on other airlines that work for you. Know which flights / connecting cities, etc you are willing to travel on. It makes a lot easier on the staff at EWR trying to reaccomodate you if you already know what works for you. While they probably won't volunteer to put you on another airline, there is a good chance they will accommodate if you suggest one.
4. Remember you have to be at the departing gate to LIS at T-30".
Best of luck.

If UA sold this as one single ticket, it is within MCT and UA will rebook you if you misconnect. If these are separate tickets and you no show for that second ticket, it will be cancelled and will have whatever value it retains under its fare rules. That could be $0.
In any event, this is way below SCT (Sensible Connection Time) and a bit better if you have Global Entry and no checked bags. But, as it stands, you will be required to process through CBP which includes both the immigration and customs portions, then drop your bags with UA, proceed back through security, and on to your LIS gate. Even a short-ish delay on the inbound flight or delays at CBP may cause you to misconnect / no show.
Given the poor onwards alternatives if you do not get on the scheduled LIS flight, any reroute will likely involve a substantial delay and also mean an inconvenient routing.

Standard questions
Will you have checked bags? (appears yes -- this could be problematic)
Do you have Global Entry / Nexus?
YQB not having PreClearance is a bummer
MCT is listed at 1:10 but the feels optimistic

Waiting on Global Entry and yes with luggage, but now happily rebooked onto the earlier UA4377 and not fussed with the wait in EWR, all done in 5 minutes on the phone and very surprised that no change fee applied, shame i cannot use the new Polaris lounge, but will check out the Club lounge instead, been a while since i have flown UA, all Oneworld over the last 5 or 6 years.

You won't have time to linger at Duty Free but this is doable barring a major delay in arriving EWR. Of course would be easier of you had carry on only, but even with checked bag can be OK. At YBQ you should be checked in and bag tagged through to LIS, so you will just drop bag as you exit customs, not have to stand in check in line. Just proceed to security and on to your LIS gate. Have made similarly tight connections at EWR and while it can be nerve wracking, it can be done. And if the worst happens, above advice about having alternate flights to suggest is bang on. .

Unfortunately YQB does not have PreClearance (Yet -- it may in the near future), so the OP will need to enter and clear US customs at EWR

I think you misread the posted quote. It was correct (you are both correct). Perhaps you meant to post this in "Misunderstand This Post and Reply"?
