1Ks just cleared EUA 120 hrs before CO flight

1Ks just cleared EUA 120 hrs before CO flight
This seems odd to me. My wife got an Elite Upgrade Notification for a CO flight exactly 120hrs before the flight. I am on the same flight. We are both 1Ks and I checked and we both cleared for the flight on Mon. Mar. 5th. The email came from Continental Airlines Inc. with the address [email protected].
Is this the new normal (would be nice) or are they trying to pre-clear people before the weekend mess?
Note, we both had our OnePass numbers on the reservation so show as Platinums. Separate PNRs.

Under the new rules, only GS will clear at 120 hours. 1K is at 96 hours.
UA Insider posted somewhere recently that on CO metal Plats and 1Ks are currently treated equal (a change from the previous Plat > 1K), so at least until 3/3 120 hours would be normal.
