This is an archive thread, the active thread is [Consolidated]UA/Partner flights miles not posting?

If a United / United Express flight has not posted within 5 days, you may request missing flight credit
Go to the bottom of the page and sign-in into your account
You will need the e-ticket number.
Requests may be submitted up to 12 months after the date of your flight.

For missing flight partner credit you will need to wait 15 7 days.
For any segment operated by a Star Alliance partner airline, Aer Lingus or Jet Airway, you’ll need to enter additional information along with the ticket number.

For missing non-flight partner credit you will need to wait 8 weeks before requesting missing credit

related thread: Retroactive flight credit for new MP account
UA claims I was a "no show" , cancelled rest of itin -- but I did actually fly!!!

Thanks, thats the first thing I tried, but didnt work. Guess it takes time for status to propagate. hopefully shorter than the time for miles to post. I'll bring a printout of my gold card and statement, maybe that will work

They have been pretty friendly to me @ the lax usair club in a similar
situation, and let me call the united people to confirm my status.

Give it a try, nothing to loose.

US segments purchased on UA stock posted today from 11/11.
Still waiting for US segments purchased on US stock from 11/5 (the UA segments from that trip have posted).

I´m waiting on five LH segments now, two of them long-haul. First flight was 11/1. Never had any problems before, LH always was credited two days after the flight. Not anymore.

So how do these 15 days count? If I flew 11/1 would it be 11/16?

You won't be able to submit missing miles claim until it's day 15. You don' have count. Everything other than the valid dates will be greyed out in the claim form, you can't select.

I am about to make *G. Most of my flights have been on *A carriers. Not a single time has miles posted within 15 days, during this entire year. Just realized that, wow!

Thanks for this, so I´ll have to give it a try now.

How long did it take until you got your mileage accrued when you did the retro credit request?

Sounds like I need to wait a few more days past 14 days and start an annoying process.
Huh? Where on earth did you get the idea that you need to submit paper boarding passes for Star Alliance carriers?? UA does NOT need and does NOT want your boarding passes. A long time ago, you did need to submit boarding passes, but that was back when all boarding passes were on paper!

What they DO want is the information shown here:

* MileagePlus number
* Email address
* Operating carrier
* Ticket number
* First and last name as displayed on your ticket
* Flight number
* Booking class (e.g., Y, W, K, L, etc.)
* Origin and destination airports
* Departure date
* Seat number on your originating flight (optional)

REPEAT: UA does NOT WANT your paper boarding passes! They want the information above in ELECTRONIC form only (or by you calling the MP service center). All you need is your e-ticket receipt to find the above information (except for the seat number, which is optional).

Just fill out the form here (for Star Alliance carriers) after waiting 15 days:

http://www.united.com/web/en-US/apps...troCredit.aspx

If filled out correctly, you will AUTOMATICALLY get credit within 15 business days (and UA will wait the full 15 days, trust me on that). Always works - at least for me - and I have used this method for over a dozen *A flights.

Consolidated "UA/Partner flights (miles) not posting?" thread

One of my wife's 4 US segments posted last night - but it was from a flight on 11/11, not from 11/7. Good thing is it was the transcon, not the short haul, so at least she is now showing as a Gold.

The DOT desk is alive!

2 Days after submitting my DOT complaint, I heard back from United. This is much better than the 4-6 weeks it takes for Premier Voice feedback to be answered.

Dear bsb21:

Your email addressed to The US Department of Transportation was forwarded to my attention. I understand your concern regarding mileage credit for flights, USXX and USXX, on October X, 2012.

When you take an eligible flight on United, the mileage credit and Premier qualifying activity will appear in your account approximately 72 hours after departure. Flights on a Star Alliance member airline or another airline partner may take up to 15 days for mileage credit to display in your account, due to variations in processing times across our wide network of global partners.

I contacted our MileagePlus Service Center on your behalf and unfortunately they did not have record of receiving your earlier request for the missing flights. The request has now been submitted and once we receive verification from US Airways, the flights will be credited to your MileagePlus account. Please allow at least 15 days.

As a Premier Platinum MileagePlus member, your business is especially important to us, and we look forward to welcoming you on board a future United Airlines flight.

Best regards,
XX

Dear United:

You are a founding member of the Star Alliance. If you are part of the Star Alliance, you have to allow crediting of Star Alliance flights to your mileage program (though I of course know know how much credit may vary by carrier). You can't just only allow US Airways flights to credit, and not allow anyone else's, forcing your loyal flyers to continually wait out their mandatory 15 days, then tie up valuable agent time trying to get the miles posted (or make us deal with a wonky mileage submission link online).

I know you like SHARES as it offers dynamic pricing!!! (as evidenced in the cheap UG offers non-loyal flyers get), but you have to do the little things too - such as credit partner flights. It's not that difficult - PMUA did it, AA/DL find ways to do it easily, even CO wasn't this bad at it. I hope you can find it in your heart to start re-allowing these miles to credit to Mileage Plus, a formerly great, now still pretty good mileage program. Thank you.

Sincerely,
UA-NYC

This is incorrect.

It's nice that your flights have posted (although it sounds like you too have had to do follow up), but there are many, many examples on this thread of people who have had different experiences. I prefer to use my experiences and I have had far more *A flights than you this year.

And there are times when UA DOES want the boarding pass. I was asked to send it several times this year during follow up requests. I keep a PDF of every boarding pass but not all boarding passes show the ticket number, and even though I filled it in online I was still asked to provide it via email.

Your post is what should happen, but it isn't always what does happen. I would hope that the many posts on the subject here serve as a warning to people to be prepared to provide more and to do more than just fill in an online form. I'm sure that you are not intentionally trying to mislead people, but the rosy picture you present just isn't the experience of many of us here.

bsb21, great that the DOT claim worked! At least, step one worked. But sad that they too claim that they never received prior messages from you. I sent an email trail and attachments as my proof that they had indeed heard from me in past, and followed up every time they failed to meet the deadline they provided in their email. Good luck!

Probably a basic question, but do I wait 15 days after the LAST leg of an itin and claim all the legs at the same time, or do I request credit flight by flight.

I remember not being able to submit a request some something else in the not too distant past since I'd already submitted a claim for a different portion of the itin (same ticket number).

Also, for anyone who has a BD segment from when they were still in *A which didn't post, the online form does not work. UA asks for the copy of the boarding pass along with the ticket number and other details, but this cannot be submitted online.

I also recently ran into a situation where I could not use the online form because the airport code was not accepted.

They are still obliged to give credit for any flight which occurred before BD left *A, even if they may intially decline the credit. Involving the DOT is definitely recommended if you get nowhere with UA, as I think that denying valid BD credit is even worse than just not crediting us for existing *A carriers.

WIRunner, I like your new signature!

So, with the online claim not working, are we going to need to file DOT claims for all *A flights from now on?
