New UA "Travel Bank" option -- deposit funds and get a bonus

{UA} we’ve decided to discontinue the program as of April 23, 2019.
In particular, the united.com Club
united.com Club

As we keep evolving the digital experience for our travelers, we’ve decided to discontinue the united.com Club. If you’re a current member, there are a few things we hope you keep in mind.

Although you’ll no longer be able to renew your membership, you’ll continue to receive the benefits of the united.com Club until your current membership period expires. If you booked any trips before the end of your current membership, we’ll credit any united.com Club benefits to your TravelBank after you’ve completed your trip.

5 April 2018 -- UA started posting an "expiration date", appears to be at least 18 months after most recent activity (some are longer for unknown reasons)
also states
Some of your United®TravelBank Cash may expire on a different date than what’s displayed here. Please check your balance details for a complete history of your United®TravelBank Cash transactions and the expiration date for each amount.
Expiration had previously been in the T&Cs for some time (2 years of inactivity? but now is 18 months) and had stated an ETC would be issued if the funds did timeout. Unclear if that still applies.

The Gift Registry has been disabled since Fall 2017 (Sept?) (appears this may be related to a tax issue?)
As of 5 May 2018, it still states
We're sorry, our gift registry page is currently unavailable for maintenance. You can still use the funds from your gift registry to book travel during this time, but you will not be able to receive contributions or update your registry details. We expect the page to be up and running again in early 2018.
Around Sept 2018, wording changed to
We're sorry, our gift registry page is currently unavailable for maintenance. You can still use the funds from your gift registry to book travel during this time, but you will not be able to receive contributions or update your registry details.

I had the exact same issue with a split PNR on 1/2. Took multiple calls and emails. Finally resolved this week. Never took this long.

I'm subscribed through June 2020 and I haven't had any credits post from Dec 10 on. Probably 4-5 PNRs flown. Will call in.

Update. The TravelBank cash expires in June 2020. Looks like I subscribed Dec 12 2017, which means I probably didn't auto renew, hence the $5 rewards not posting.

Sorry for the obvious question, are you still signed up? What was the date of your last $25 fee? Have you had any gaps?

I asked because I let my "subscription" expire and lost credits until I resubscribed late last year and it is back crediting.

Has it been confirmed that united.com members who also have the Chase Travel Bank Card do not pay the $25 fee and still earn the $5 credits per ticket purchased?

I’m not sure why that would be the case.

Seems to be deposits through the ‘club’ vs. the card are completely separate. No reason why you couldn’t get deposits through the card spend, but just not take advantage of the club benefits.

Given we’re a family buying 3 tickets every trip, we’re already ahead after two trips booked with the club. Because wife and I have separate TB cards, we now have the club for both of us, and we even easily come out ahead still.

I have the TB card (but don't use it for air travel) and did not receive the $5 per ticket when my annual subscription expired.

As far as I know, there is no place that shows the membership expiration, however, it does "Balance expiration date ", click on the (?) near the date to get an explanation
"Balance expiration date " is generally 18 months after the last credit, suggesting your last credit was Aug 2018. Do you show any $5 credits after Aug 2018 (in the activity list)?

I found my membership expiration date by going to this page: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/app...b/default.aspx and clicking on Join the United Club.

my balance expiry date is 8/31/2020.

Was not aware it was there -- many have confused the balance expiration as subscription expiration

Curious, what was the most recent Gift Registry Contribution date under Debits (toward the bottom) for the travel bank activity

Is your subscription expiration related to the TB card anniversary date? It is interesting it is roughly a year from today, wonder how it is calculated.

My expiration presently is a year from my renewal last month, I will have to try this theory in September on my TB anniversary

i think my expiration date keeps movig forward a month at a time so that it is always 1 year ahead. I’ll check in March to see if it’s jumped forward to March 2020
