Same metal...different price UA.com vs. CO.com

CLE to ATL to SFO to CLE

I show as 1K on United, and Platinum on CO. I booked the same flights on both airlines, same metal, same times...same damn planes. It was almost 100 cheaper on CO. I was thinking that I might want to book on UA so my status would show. (And maybe I'd be further up for an upgrade.)

Another thing I noticed: I could buy the MM on United, but didn't have the option to make them EQMs.

I booked on CO.

Is it a code share at co.com? Just curious.

Very standard

The search engine on CO.com is better at finding the cheapest fair and even when you do the exact some search on UA.com it will be more expensive. Class of service is the same and everything. All about making the most for revenue.

Considering the co.com site will be the master site once the merger finishes, that's actually not a bad thing.

Does this really require another thread on this exact topic?

Despite being owned by a common company, and having a single operating certificate, UA and CO still book on separate systems, so yes, one carrier may have inventory that another does not. This is SOP.

Yep. Always check both. Since I fly to BKK, I usually do better on UA, but not always. Actually, I usually run it on Kayak first.
