How to check upgrade waitlist
Hi,
I am a new premier member. How do I check the Upgrade Waitlist for a flight tomorrow morning online? I also have expertflyer. Thanks. -Dave |
Within 24 hours you can check the status of any flight and look at the upgrade, standby, etc. using the smartphone apps. Not sure of any other way.
|
|
This will only show those fliers who have checked-in, however, so its overall usefulness is questionable.
|
I've found that using the mobile url is useful.
Remember you can change the date (in the URL) to any date in the future. Of course, out of the 24 hours window, it will show only those pax upgraded by confirmed SWU or miles. (Not really 24 hours window for check-ins, since a connecting flight may allow you to check-in in a flight out of that window) Today is Wednesday, but I can see my confirmed upgrade on next Saturday flight. (I'm CAM/D) Of course nobody has checked-in yet. https://mobile.united.com/FlightStat...Option=Upgrade To use that, check for your flight, on any date, and tehn manually change the date in the URL That will provide you information about who has already been upgraded (if any). Regarding the usefulness of Flight Status information. Confirmed upgrades sou see AFTER CHECK IN are those not upgraded with a voucher (or miles) Remember also that all upgrades that have not been confirmed 24hs prior to the departure time will be confirmed at the gate. |
Thank you very much! Did not know that upgrade standby list can be checked freely.
By the way, under the name list, what are the letters stand for ? For example for "ABC , D Business", is it correct to interpret as follows: ABC --> the first 3 letters of the first name D --> the first letter of the family name Business --> standby class of service |
Other threads that may be of help:

Works only for international flights? Or CO only?
I don't know if I am doing something wrong but this neat trick seems to be working for me only on the international flights or maybe on CO operated flights only. I happen to have the same CO51 flight coming up in Feb and I can clearly see myself on the confirmed UG list. However, I can't see this info for any of my domestic flights (which all happen to be on UA) other than for the flights within 24h of departure. Therefore I am thinking that it works either only for CO flights or only for international flights (or some combination - don't have time to investigate)

This is why I posted upthread that the usefulness is questionable... it's really only accurate as a true waitlist within an hour or so of departure once everyone has checked-in. By then, you're probably already at the gate and can see the waitlist regardless of check-in. |

The WAITLIST portion only shows those who are checked-in and waitlisted. The UPGRADED portion shows everyone upgraded, regardless of whether they are checked-in or not.

Will close this older thread and refer all to https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...atus-tool.html
