United Confirms Continued Use of "Rhapsody In Blue"
http://www.chicagotribune.com/busine...,4800743.story
Not sure what the significance of "officially confirming" this today is... but, in any event, it makes me happy. Ever since I can remember, United and "Rhapsody in Blue" have been married in my mind and I would be sad to see it go. It makes me think of running through the B to C tunnel with my family when I was a kid.

Happy too. But new safety video redesigned the tune

Just kidding. I like Rhapsody in Blue, I'm just not a big fan of it as an airline theme music. Though I admit it is iconic and COdbaUA is smart to keep it around to persuade UA loyalists that United is not really Continental.

I'm a huge fan of Rhapsody in Blue, but a little chagrined when 20- and 30-somethings refer to it as "United's song."
Speaking of which: I love the theme song used by British Air: "The Flower Duet" from the opera, Lakme.
