Lga-iad THE system offered me a upgrade for 306 dollars of course I declined, I feel it so expensive for a 1.25 hour flight, I was booked in L class.

iad-ams with the same reservation the system offered me an upgrade for 809 dollars L class.

Sap-lga via IAH I was booked in K class and the system offered an upgrade in both segments for 259 dollars, I declined and 1 hours later I was upgraded from sap to IAH

Offered $1019 upgrade for HKG-SFO flight. Declined.

Not sure if that upgrade would have covered my domestic segments, since this was my first time flying all-UA metal. If it does, then next time, I'll accept. Sitting in 60C on a 744 or crossing NA in a 757 is not fun, either.

Interesting situation for a flight tomorrow that is CPU eligible from CUN-IAH. I (Silver) am flying with my dad (Plat) and my mom and brother (both GM). We are all on separate PNR's for CPU reasons. With only one seat left in United Business, I was offered a upgrade for $289, but the rest of the family was offered $359. I'm a little surprised to see that I had the cheapest price. FWIW we are all on the same Q fare and all of us declined.

ORD-BOS. Offer $60. Accepted.

Don't remember fare class off the top of my head. Was going to look when I had a chance.

That makes no sense. Is your dad on a PNR all by himself? And why are you all on separate PNRs - should be Dad/Mom on one PNR, and you/brother on the other - to maximize E+ and upgrades.

That's an excellent question. UA may have changed the game somewhat, though last official thing I heard was that the higher premier status sticks, I was actually told by a UA rep recently that the lower status sticks.

Not sure what's true anymore, not surprising given the post merger atmosphere. As a 1k with a 1P wife and a 2P two year old toddler, IMO the lower status does indeed seem to prevail based on my upgrade percentages post 3/2013, but YMMV.

IST-EWR tomorrow (Dec 31) is offering up-sell to the last seat in J for $639. The flight is showing J1Y0 within T-24. I would normally have taken this offer since it's a 10.5 hrs flight westbound, but the J1Y0 fact makes me think that it's heavily oversold and I'm perhaps in line for op-ups. I'll take my chances and wait until tomorrow.

12/27/2012 ORD->LAX->PVG

Offered ~$550 to BusinessFirst on LAX-PVG (the ORD->LAX was overbooked).

Definitely took it seeing as how normal upgrades cost 30,000 miles + $600.

I hung out in the * Lounge near the gate until the last possible moment, so no clue what the monitors/waitlists looked like. My ticket was an S bucket.
