International flights in domestic first generally wind up getting labelled "business" afaik. It's the same basic product though.

By the looks of things, UA3446 is operated on an E170, so by regional jet standards you're pretty lucky.

The website is fairly broken vis a vis food at the moment, don't believe anything that it says if it's counterintuitive. ORD to YHZ is a fair distance so you ought to get something; there's a thread around somewhere that sets out precisely the circumstances under which you can expect a meal vs a "refreshment" vs a snack.

With PMUA anything with Mexico, Canada and Central America was flown with 2 class domestic planes and labeled as business class (they did this to prevent access to IFL's). Everything else international was flown with 3 class planes with true First class.

I just flew ORD-SAT (2.5 hours) on a CRJ in business class. The website said beverages only, but we were given a snack box. Still, I was glad that I bought a sandwich to bring along - there's not much in the box.

Based on how it's written, it certainly seems to suggest a cod fish from the Amazon. However, it could also be a reference to Michael Cordua, who was a member of the CO Congress of Chefs and appears to be part of the new UA team. It seemed like a disproportionately large number of dishes in PMCO BF were Latin-inspired recipes from Cordua, and he runs a number of restaurants in Houston, including Amazon Grille.

I think you're right with this. Before the merger, the CO BF flights ex-HNL offered an entree choice with Indigo's sauce, which of course referenced the excellent restaurant Indigo in Honolulu.

With the pathetic catering on the longhauls out of HNL these days, that option is sadly gone.

Legacy CO BF is alive and well

Flew LHR-EWR in BizFirst on a PMCO 752 this month. Great, stoically diligent crew and nice meal:

Warm nuts and Monopole champagne

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/f2c32ab1.jpg

The simultaneous DL LHR-JFK 767-400 departure slowly overtaking us

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/09a4a328.jpg

Nicely presented smoked salmon and air dried beef from the cart, served on a main course sized plate. A nice improvement from the prior 'hot' finger food - this is what old school CO BF was like.

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/72b23e08.jpg

Chicken with mushroom sauce. I took the recommendation of a prior poster on this thread and ordered it. Substantial, moist, and well seasoned. This is the signature of Continental BusinessFirst - Texas sized main courses.

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/de269ebd.jpg

Cheese plate from the cart

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/2ac7c1b1.jpg

After dinner, I asked for some more cheese. The flight attendant then happily put together a main course sized plate. Hard to tell from the photo, but it's twice the size of what I had to begin with. That was enough to last a few hours...

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/b568cf27.jpg

Midflight cookies and milk with some Alan Harper laughs

http://i1091.photobucket.com/albums/...l/e4e065e0.jpg

The usual domestic FC style pre arrival meal. I prefer what UA did for these before, the clotted cream / cheese / scones, but no complaint. It's fine.

All in all a great flight. Wines meh as usual, service great, and as much as widebodies are nice there is something to be said for the intimacy of a 16 seat cabin with regard to service.

True cod is a cold water fish, adults might wander into waters as warm as 20C but spawning in sub 8C. Not something found in the Amazon. Might be a tropical fish like Cobia. Though that is an Asian tropical farmed fish rather than S American. Might be a fish done with a Latin recipe.

^^ Looks great! Can't wait for my DEN<>SYD trip next month in F/BF

Cheers,

Any recent news about F menus from NRT-North America? Flying NRT-ORD in F next week. Looking forward to seeing the improvements.

Was unimpressed NRT -> SFO in June, in C and in F. More options, same quality.

I know I could have ordered a special meal, BUT....

Flying in F SFO-HKG. Main meal options are:

1) grilled pork chop
2) Mongolian beef
3) grilled shrimp
4) noodles with shrimp

So, either pork, beef, or shelfish! Can't remember last international flight without a vegetarian option.

I keep kosher, but am not strict. So I rarely order a special meal. This 13 hour flight will be interesting.

The FA was wonderful in her responce, and she said they'll find something nice for me!

Quite surprising that the noodles are shellfish. That's usually the veggie option.
