Is Route Load Factor Data Available?
 

I think the answer is no, but I thought I'd ask.

I'm looking at finding which routes typically are not full in F for domestic flights. Reason being I'd like to "stalk" routes that are upgrade friendly so that when decent fares come along or my calendar pemits, I can take a mileage run with perhaps an above avg chance of an upgrade clearing. I know airlines typically dont publish load data, and I use UDUstats.com, but was wondering if I was missing other sources of data.

no not really at least which is revealed to the flying community.

However, several things you can do to help yourself. first try to avoid the hub to hub routes always elite heavy and chances are silm. the middle of the day flights would be more optimial too.

Though it kinda boils down to luck half of the time, and check in as soon as you can

Thanks for the tips! being in GRR, I'm forced to ORD most times which really kills upgrade chances I think , but DEN seems more upgrade friendly lately and there are direct flights from GRR. thanks for the mid-day idea!

You could try UDUstats.com which is based off of data input by UA elites. It may not be completely accurate as I don't think it has a heavy user base, but it could give you some idea as to which routes are best for upgrades.

It's rather unfortunate that udustats isn't as well used as it could be. Perhaps I'm grossly overestimating the size of the active UA/CO community on FT.

The information you are looking for is most certainly not available - load data is highly guarded by airlines, and even by employees, likely only available to those in the organization who need it.

Want confirmation? Look back to Canada a few years ago where there was a big case with some pretty severe spy allegations/actions going on - believe a Westjet exec at the time (formally of AC, too, IIRC) was found to be stealing load (and other) data from both AC and the now defunct JetsGo, including somehow accessing the AC employee system they use to book flights, and going through trash at the home of an AC exec. It was not pretty.

UDU stats is really the only place to get data from, as far as I know, as imperfect as it is.
