Will Continental Drink Certificates Be Able to Be Used on United Flights in 2012

Tried using 1 last week and they wouldn't accept it on a United flight. Will they accept it starting in January, when the airlines have officially merged?

They should be accepting them now. There's an issue if the UA person wouldn't accept them.

It's been several months (at least) since you have been able to use CO drink vouchers on UA and v.v. You should have insisted that they check with another FA.

GF just qualified as Gold on CO and received 4 vouchers expiring 1/31/12. Not very useful, less useful if they can't be used on United.

you should be able to use them

I've used CO drink certificates (both some with expiration dates as well as some old ones w/ no expiration) on UAL metal in the past several months - internationally as well as domestic.

worked on uax

Just used two yesterday on a Skywest crj2 abq-lax with no issues, thanks to this thread! I probably wouldn't have tried it if I hadn't read of others success here. Thanks!

Good to hear...I tired using one earlier this year and was denied (told it needed to mention United "somewhere" on the ticket, which it obviously doesn't) but figured at some point they'd start taking them. ^

I've used them interchangeably a few times this year, with no problem.

The only issue I had was on a CO flight earlier this year, trying to use a UA cert for a specialty drink in First Class. They initially accepted it, but later came back demanding $2 since only CO certs could be used for specialty drinks. I had to retrieve my bag from the overhead to find them a CO cert (which was acceptable for the First Class drink charges). I was trying to dispose of the UA cert since it had a more imminent expiration date. Fortunately the specialty drinks are gone, which means an end to CO's embarrassing First Class drink charges and these sorts of nuances.

Sounds like a rogue flight attendant - sometimes you just have to press harder until you get the answer that's right and seems logical.

Really! Chalk it up to laziness and not wanted to input the info. You should show her your ticket still showing its a CO flight number. Remind her the gate and gate agent boarding it as Continental flights even though the F/A have to call it UA.

I got my Platinum card but no coupons.
