Just crossed 100k EQM :-)

Hoorah--latest flight just posted, so I'm now at 103,935 EQM and 16 EQS...first time to cross 100k EQM. This is on CO, but I guess with the merger I should get used to saying it is UA 1K.

Highest I've ever hit before was 50k+ miles, or Gold Elite on CO.

(The wife wasn't terribly excited by this news, so I figured I'd share with you guys.)

Congrats. Now be prepared for the addiction to not losing the status. Once you make 1K you never want to go back.

Congrats!

I'm sitting on 97,204 right now and only have a round trip from EWR to ATL scheduled in Dec.

I've hit a little over 100,000 for the past 2 years and this time I might not make it.

Now that there is a 1K level next year I was really looking forward to getting it. Oh well, just gotta keep my fingers crossed.

LOL yeah...I've already been thinking of flights I don't really need to take next year, but could, just to bump up my miles.

If you're that close, look up your reservation on continental.com and buy the elite maximizer miles. Yeah, they're technically a "bad deal" at the cost per mile, but as close as you are, you wouldn't have to buy much, and the couple of hundred extra bucks you'd pay now for those miles would pay off with the 6 SWU certificates you get when you cross 100,000.

If you're even considering stopping at 97,204, I'd say you really weren't.

Congrats! I made 1k first time this year too. Looking forward to the SWUs. Already got 2 confirmed: LAX to SYD and SFO-ORD-LHR. Will make over 150k miles this year on CO and UA, plus other non alliance airlines (200k total) so due a couple more SWUs.

You must have been CO - and you were right 75 was top of the heap - now 75 will not be top of the heap and 1K will really mean something.

to be happy or jealous?!

I know I should be happy for you but I get really frustrated to see people hit 1k with only 16 segments! I know it's a revenue thing but it really sucks that in order to hit 1k, some of us have to fly all over the midwest, every week for an entire year and still not rack up 100k miles.

Ok... my rant is over! Congrats on getting to 1k!

I agree.

While I'd never begrudge someone for their acheivement it's always irked me that UA awards top-tier status for as few as 5 round trips.

It is, after all, a frequent flyer program. 8 trips in a year is hardly frequent in my opinion.

It's even more insulting since UA raised the EQS requirement to 120 from 100. As it stands, I'm going to finish the year with 100,171 EQM and 99 EQS but I had to throw in a MR to HKG to get there. Otherwise I would've easily requalified just on segments alone under the old rules.

Then move. Your flights will be longer.
