Yes, I forgot I was in the GE thread, not the PreCheck thread, which also has a lot of posts about GE.

UA Travel Bank

I have a friend who is a brand new 1K and is applying for Global Entry. She will get the $100 rebate for the fee from UA and it will be deposited in her "Travel Bank" but she cannot find her Travel Bank.

Where does one find the Travel Bank? I have never personally used it and I have looked at every tab on UA.com; I have asked inane Alex who simply describes T&C's; and I tired to search FT for threads to no avail. Simply cannot find the Travel Bank

I wonder if the TravelBank will ultimately be the electronic repository for any ETCs or other credits earned in connection with UA travel...

I belive that describes the initial process, replaced in 2012 with the following:

https://www.united.com/web/en-US/app...y/default.aspx

In any case, the Travel Bank is found by logging into one's account and navigating to the "View Account Details" on the first page (or, Home > My Account)

No "travel bank credit," they give you a credit card number to use. The United end of the process worked flawlessly for me. But the Global Entry office at SFO currently has no appointments available for the next six weeks (late June). Lame, lame, lame.

That has regularly been true for the past year but cancellations / open times frequently occur. Just need to re-check from time to time (worked for me and many others).

Thanks, I will check that out. Would be nice to get this taken care of before my next TPAC in early June.

Thanks much. I knew that could find the answer from the FT experts.

If you are in an airport with an examination center, just go in and ask if they're talking walk-ins at that point. I qualified on a Wednesday, booked my appointment at BOS for 3 months later, after my next TATL trip. On that Friday I walked in to the IAH Terminal E airside center during a 3 hour layover, waited for the person that was there to finish up, and 10 minutes later I was done. My approval email (meaning that the fingerprint scan was complete) came while I was on the flight back to BOS.

Okay, per WineCountryUA's recommendation, I kept watching for open slots and lo and behold, one opened up a full month prior to my initial reservation. Went in yesterday and was done and approved in less than 15 minutes. Even got a seat both directions on BART at rush hour!

How long to process application?

I applied for Global Entry on June 11th and it still shows pending review. How long does it take to get processed?

For me it was basically instantaneous. I had to wait a month or two to get an appt at LAX but once I got in that was fast too.

The biggest problem I'm having now is that I have trouble with the fingerprint scanner. 2 out of 3 times I have used it coming into the US from abroad the fingerprint machine would not scan my fingers and I got a card printed with a big X on it. From the last time it seems that they are seeing this alot - according to the guys at customs.

UA Global Entry program - fee compensation - transfer to Wife?

Hi folks, I had a look but didn't see where this is answered.

I have Global Entry already - but looks like I may hit 75k and qualify for the UA compensation program benefit later this year.
I'd love to be able to use this to pay for my Wife to also get GE, so my question is can I use the promo code to process her application?

I'm not hopeful after reading the terms & conditions, but figure I'd see if anyone has tried this.

thanks

From what I remember, the credit you receive is basically a UA-funded "credit card" number to use on the DHS site. I doubt that number is tied to your name. I'd give it a try.
