it does not but TSA has stated GE folks will likley have a higher percentage of PreCheck.

may not be now but close-in openings do occur from time to time -- many reports in this thread plus that was my experience.

Somebody posted in the T/S forum that CBP will be doing GE interviews at the CES in Vegas in January. http://www.cesweb.org/cesweb/media/C...-Entry-CES.pdf
You may be able to snag a slot there if you want an earlier interview.

Yup-but keep checking the calendar for open dates as you may luck out as I did (and the calendar should default to the first open date once you click to reschedule)

Yup. I was scheduled for 3/1 at ORD, and I was able to switch it to 12/29 just yesterday. That will sure help for my two int'l trips in January!

Was there any talk from UA about covering this fee for people who achieve their 1K or Plat status in 2012?

I forgot if people need to wait for an email from UA or if one can just go online to claim the fee refund code?

If your current status is Platinum or higher, you are eligible, regardless of when you achieved that status.

Just go here to get your fee credit code:

Neither card activation nor the card itself is required to use the GE kiosk.

If you have the time and patience, leave re-schedule screen on. This website does not log you off for quite sometime. Refresh the screen every 5 to 10 minutes. Miraculously, you will find a much better/closer time slot. Data is live and changes occur very frequently. I was able to reschedule for a friend from more than 3 months to less than 7 days with less than two hours of trying and re-trying. It is best to do this trying and re-trying during the hours Global Entry office is open.

I was usually offered appointment for the next day or two when people started last minute cancellation.

It all depends on the city where your local/nearest Global Entry processing center is located. At SFO, there are not as many slots as LAX. As l recall, when I was looking for the soonest appointment, Honolulu had plenty of openings as soon as the next day.

I just applied GE online, after I entered all the credit card information provided by UA, I click submit, I didn't get any confirmation numbers or anything, and just jump back to the front page, is that normal ?

So what's next ? Wait for an email or regular mail for interview ?

Quick question about UA sponsoring/reimbusing for Global Entry. I'm already a Global Entry member, and as a UA Platinum, I was hoping to use this voucher that UA gives out for my spouse. Is this possible? Or is the voucher tied to my name? Alternatively, can I take the voucher now, and use it when my Global Entry membership expires (since I will no longer be Plat come Feb '13?
Thanks.
