United 787 Expeded Delivery in September

Just read this on David Parker Brown's website:
http://www.airlinereporter.com/

The seating is expected to feature 36 United BusinessFirst flat-bed seats, 63 Economy Plus seats and 120 seats in Economy). Interested that they are moving to the BusinessFirst seat model rather than First and Business in seperate cabins.

Let's see if they can meet this goal of delivery by September. That is only 3 months away.

The 787 that is being delivered is from the CO order. I don't think they've announced whether the UA ordered 787s will be two or three cabin.

Not particularly surprising. The markets this plane will be serving are unlikely to support F/C/Y service. Why fly a plane with NRSA/upgrade class for F when you can sell C and make more money that way? Even *A airlines like SQ with really good F products don't fly F on all their longhaul routes, because it wouldn't make sense, so why should UA fly a considerably less impressive F product on marginal routes?

EK was giving refunds or "LOTS OF $$ CERTS AND MILES" (your choice) for all the 380 flights cancelled last month due to wing cracks. Did not matter what fare. If you wanted a refund, you got it. If you HAD to still go but were angry cuz you booked the 380 on purpose, then you got certs and miles,

Nothing like a little good will as an investment. I bet United wiggles out of any refunds. I can't see them giving up a dollar if they don't have to

That curved line sure is ugly. Why ruin the classic paint scheme?

personally I like the curved line -- it take a dated design and modernizes it a bit.

I agree! The curved line looks great.

It does seem modern

"Classic" is one way to describe the 20 y.o. scheme

Besides, it's a stock 787 styling scheme - no add'l graphic resources necessary

Does anyone have any idea what "temporary" domestic routes the airplane will serve prior to being placed into international service?
