United Priority security line access

I am being offered a United Premier Travel option for an extra US$ 39 which includes "Priority security line access" at LAX. Does anyone know what this means exactly at LAX? Jump to first in line? Pass NoS-free? Zip through a special celebrity line hidden away???

Doesnīt seem like much of a deal to me in general (I donīt care much about boarding early, not being a large carry-on user), but NoS and line-free security may be worth that much.

All it means is that you go through premium security just like everybody else in F, with elite status on UA / CO / *A and who paid for either the single-day or annual premier travel package.

At LAX there are three security lines. 1) Intl F + p.s. F; 2) Premier; 3) Kettles

It will save you a bit of time, but not much.

At MSP United has the lines with the NOS. Not sure where your travel takes you. Although it forces me to to maintain status with Delta.

I have been through premium security in LAX, and it was as close to a "normal" long line as anything I've seen. Chaotic, really.

I guess expecting a front of the line NOS-free pass was too much of a dream...

There is no offering that can speed up anything at LAX.

Bolding mine: As others have noted, you get to use the elite security line which imho, can be a big time saver as the main/non-elite lines can be a zoo but as to early boarding, even if you are not a "large carry-on user", with flights being full, even finding space for a laptop bag or a small briefcase can be tough if you board late in the main cabin

I disagree. If you enter between terminals 6/7 it can save a lot of time. The elite line also feeds pretty directly into the rightmost security lane, and that lane is WBI-free most of the time. You do not need to be an elite to use that lane, but the elite line feeds the most naturally into it.

It means you get to use the line everyone uses anyway. I wish there was some control but the airports seem to ignore the queue jumpers who should not be in the priority line.
