Benefits unique to the Chase MP Presidential Plus card (closed and not available for new cardholders)
- 1000 FPQM per $5,000 spend (or 0.2 / $1)
- FPQMs are only valid for Premier Silver / Gold / Platinum status, expire 3 years after earning
- FPQMs can only be used to increase PQMs to a max of 75,000. They are not counted once 75K is reached. (example 80K PQMs +10 FPQMs is still 80K total)
- FPQMs cannot be used to earn GPUs or RPUs past 75K PQMs
- FPQMs are held separately and are only used when the owner requests them to be applied to their MP account
FPQMs can be applied for a given year as late as March 31 of the next year

Simple Pres Plus CC question

Happy holidays all. Hope everyone is doing well!

quick question as I try to figure out on the last day of the year is I’m moving any flex pqp for 2021 to increase status.

i just realized I haven’t earned any flex pqp miles whatsoever to transfer is 2020 or 2021 but I haven’t continued to use the card.

did something change or it something wrong specifically with my account?

thanks so much for the help as I try to decide today what to do.

happy new year everyone

Flex PQPs went away. You now get 500 for every 12,000 in charges that transfer at the time you earn them.

You still earn PQPs but earnings since 2020 can not be banked -- they are immediately applied. But yu still may have some older banked PQPs

If you have banked (pre-2020) FlexPQPs, you have until 31 March of next year to apply them to your 2021 PQP totals. Additionally olderFlexPQPs have an expiration date

Also to add to the confusion, FPQPs earned pre-2012 have NO expiration date.

Please use any FPQMs expiring March 31, 2022 before that date. I have a bunch of them and I will transfer them in January for 2023 status. If there are no promos they will ensure Platinum. I don't intend to let them disappear unused.

Hi all, hope you can help me understand how to best use my flex PQP.

I was gold last year and was recently reduced to Silver and would like to get Gold. (My mail goal is to have star alliance gold.)

I have the following Flex PQP from the Chase PP card:

12,600 flex PQP earned in 2018, expires 3/30/2022
8,600 flex PQP earned in 2019, expires 3/30/2023

For 2022 I have 1550 PQP and 1 PQF so far.

I have only 1 united flight this year.
Do I understand that even if I use my 12,600 PQP to get status in 2022, I cant get any status because I dont have 4 United flights?

I have a flight tomorrow on TK so I would to get this sorted out ASAP, thanks for you help!

You are correct, you need 4 flights on UA metal to qualify for any status.

Wow, that's harsh... I travel mostly internationally outside of the US... it will be 3-4 months before I can get 3 more UA flights... that really reduces the value of the PP card for me.

There is a way if you took 4 UA flights last year.
Take the 12,600 FPQP's that you MUST use by March 31 and transfer enough to make you Gold for Last Year. Then transfer the remainder for status in '23. You now have time to generate the 3 PQFs you need.

Transferring Flex PQPs -- which year to pick for max coverage?

I'm an ex-Gold member for many years who stopped travelling during COVID. It looks like I'll be flying again in 2022. I have Flex PQPs from my Presidential Plus card as follows:

Flex PQPs
6,000 (expiring 03/31/2022)
5,200 (expiring 03/31/2023)

I want to transfer 7,000 Flex PQPs by March 31st (before 6,000 expire) to achieve Gold. Which year should I pick for longest coverage? Here are the options:

Which year do you want to apply your Flexible Premier qualifying credit to?
- 2021 Premier qualifying points for 2022 Premier Status
- 2022 Premier qualifying points for 2023 Premier Status

I currently have no status. If I went for the second option, would it give me immediate Gold status for 2022 as well, or would I have to wait until 2023? United is not clear on this.

Thanks for any insight.

Did you get an bonus PQPs in 2021? Any this year so far?
Assuming no, apply the Flex to 2022 status year for 2023 would potentially give you coverage to Jan 2024.

You will need four (4) UA operated segments, once you get that added requirement, you would have Gold status immediately (in 2022).

Either way you wouldn't achieve immediate status if you didn't fly 4 segments last year or already this year. Best bet would be to apply expiring amount to 2022 (for 2023 status) and get status as soon as you finish your fourth segment. And let's say that trip is $500, then you would only need 500 of your 3/31/23 expiry points to get you up to Gold, which you would enjoy until Jan 2024.

Transfer the expiring 6,000 FPQPs to 2022 now.
Take the 4 UA flights. You will be at least Silver and only a few PQPs away from Gold.
If it makes sense to you to take the remaining FPQPs to be Gold, feel free. I would consider saving them for next year since you should be right on the cusp of making it.

Well played. I didn't even consider the miles from the 4 qualifying flights.
