Welocme to FT!, hachiroku
purchased lounge access is $375 annually for 1Ks
if the card is useless to you (lounge access, no forex, award upgrades, ....) cancel now and get a partial refund.

i'm a bit hazy on the whole lounge access thing...so Domestic you do not have lounge access if you are 1K and do not hold an appropriate card? but if you travel Internationally you can access any star alliance International Lounge?
also can these flexible miles be used instead of payment in yearly renewal of this card?

Chase Flex Premier Miles - werent they going to split into 2 buckets?
I thought that United was going to split any accumulated miles into 2 distinct "buckets" of miles, since some expire and some dont expire.
For the first time, I will need to transfer miles from Flex Prem Miles.
When you do this, does anyone know if they take the "miles that would be expiring" bucket first and leave the non-expiring miles alone?
Its very confusing and I'll bet a Chase rep wont know the answer

As per normal, if you call United reps multiple times you will get multiple conflicting and totally opposite answers. Note you mentioned Chase. In this case it is United who is in charge of these miles once they are posted to your account. Chase is done with it once the miles make it over to your account at United. United is the one who will have to keep track of the miles and whether they have expired or not and what the balance is once you start redeeming miles. I realize United will try to pass the hot potato back to Chase and vice versa but your issue properly rests with United.
As best I can determine from the conflicting information received from those at United who should know, it appears the plan is to redeem all of your non-expiring miles first before they move on to starting to redeem your expiring miles. Strictly a First In, First Out process. Yes, I know, that is totally unfair and wrong. But as best I can determine, that is what they plan to do. Unfortunately, if you go to the miles redemption screen and put in a number of miles to redeem there is no indication of which "bucket" the miles will come from. So I'm not sure how one can verify which "bucket" they are coming from even after you have made the redemption.

Remember people...we're just customers. We don't write the rules. I'm just happy to have enough FPQMs to qualify for Gold in 2013 vs Silver. Let's hope that UA decides that FPQMs are non-expiring...it would save some programming cost and for most people the cost of providing Plat vs Gold vs Silver is about the same.

These are different from Choices EQM which are associated with a few of the different Chase visa products United had for a while, but no longer offer after they rolled out the Explorer card.

Oh! So they do. In fact, I still have a choices balance. I wonder if that's from the PresPlus card or leftover from my old MP Visa....

Miles that you earn for spend on Chase-branded credit cards (that do not otherwise earn credit such as MP dining, etc.). You can then redeem them for various things... EQM, flights, pay your card's annual fee. See https://secure.unitedmileageplus.com...er/Choices.jsp
