Of course this is great news to many PMCO people... But I am pleased that another UA differentiation is not being lost in CH 9! ^

Thank you UA for providing the best of UA to the old CO fleet... Now what changes will we be liking for PMUA flyers? Still waiting... Oh I guess we are shrinking PS?

In any event thanks for keeping CH 9!

If no one is paying for the F seats at reasonable yields then you're not giving anything up really. :-:

I believe by making them deeper front to back.

p.s. 757 has no E-.

But p.s. has the worst E+ seats.

Now 72 Y becomes 114Y. I bet there won't be an extra inch of legroom.

In addition, people paying full C have no place to upgrade.

Removing F without increasing C means that premium seating is reduced by 1/3.

People need to understand this before cheering.

That will better align with not only all of the PMCO fleet, but most of the domesticly-routed PMUA fleet!

Folks paying full F have had no place to upgrade to for sometime now.

Indeed. I doubt they're too worried about that.

Maybe even less.

The new PS will have E- I'm sure.

With the SAG contract no longer requiring three-cabin First in this market, I'd say First Class cabin demand has dropped precipitously. Could quite well be that on average, being able to sell an extra 30-35 seats in economy at an average fare of around $250 ($7.5k-$10k in additional revenue) might offset the paid passengers in the First Class cabin.

Agree with the poster that AA is going to have to rethink their strategy. Delta does quite well with 16 seat J cabins on their transcons (especially to LAX); Virgin America has the same seats as Delta and seems to do well and United is moving in that direction. Given that the UA J seats will be true lie-flat versus recliners found on DL and VX (and AA 3-cabin J on this route), UA will have the best non-AA F premium cabin here.

I have removed several posts that contained content that attempted to rekindle the "us vs.them" mentality that we (the volunteer moderators) have expressly asked cease.

If you think they will have E- that is definitely NOT a positive change...

Changes Confirmed - But What About New Seats?

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/United...71762.html?x=0

So we're getting Channel 9 and Wifi fleet wide and some other improvements - but the article talks about seating improvements specifically. Is CO/UA ordering new coach seats to replace the abysmal seating quality currently found on both airlines?

Could the Air Canada Y seats be coming to our fleet?

Clearly someone means that an upgrade from First means you get to sit with the pilots all the way upfront.
