Need Help from the Experts in Finding Award Seats
Hi All.
I am trying to find 3 economy 40K award seats using United Miles from Australia to USA. Because I am not familiar with all the tools, i have tried to perform some of the searches online using aeroplan.com (for all star alliance) and united/continental but have not been succesfull. So I wanted to ask the experts to help me put the pieces of the puzzle together.
My preference would be to fly from MEL-IAH on April 15/16/17. But because I am late in the game and i will have to be flexible. So with keeping flexibility in mind i am willing to do the following.
Depart Anywhere from Australia/Newzeland as early as April 14.
Arrive Anywhere into USA/Canada as late as April 19.
Also happy to do long layover as much as overnight in the middle.
So can anyone help me find 3 award seats to make this trip. Thanks in advance for all those who can help me. Appreciate it.

Not positive that it meets the MPM rules but there is inventory for 3 in Coach on:
Call it in an see if they'll book it.
You'll need to get yourself to SYD to start and the worst layover is ~10 hours in NRT or ORD. There is also a slightly later flight SYD-BKK but I didn't copy it when I did the original search. It did have seats and makes getting up to SYD that day easier as well as trims the connection in BKK.
Code:
4/15 (FR) TG472 Sydney Bangkok(BKK) 07:10 13:40 346 Connecting to 4/15 (FR) NH174 Bangkok(BKK) Tokyo(Haneda) 22:25 06:40 +1 763 or 4/15 (FR) TG642 Bangkok(BKK) Tokyo(Narita) 23:50 08:10 +1 772 or 4/15 (FR) NH916 Bangkok(BKK) Tokyo(Narita) 23:55 08:10 +1 763 Connecting to 4/16 (SA) NH012 Tokyo(Narita) Chicago(ORD) 10:45 08:20 777 or 4/16 (SA) UA882 Tokyo(Narita) Chicago(ORD) 16:55 14:21 744 Connecting to 4/16 (SA) CO647 Chicago(ORD) Houston 17:00 19:42 753

Thanks for your kind reply. I forgot to mention that I had seen these seats when i was searching for award availability on aeroplan.com (AirCanada). But when i called MP they said that this would be considered a circle pacific and i will have to issue 2 different awards. 1 award MEL-BKK and second award BKK-IAH... Whats weaird is that AirCanada is showing this as a Single award which is 50K for them. it is same as 50k mile SYD-YVR award... So any other tips would be greatelly appreciated. Or if u know of a way to tell me how i could book the one that u suggested with 40K each ?
I also saw MEL-PVG-NRT-ORD-IAH but again same dilema about 2awards ?
Thanks again.

Without knowing the MPM that you're permitted it will be hard to find out what you can do to get a valid UA routing. Their unfortunate decision to so strictly limit award routes is particularly noticed when planning trips to Australia or New Zealand. There are a lot of connecting cities that are pretty much "on the way" but that UA excludes because they really only want you on flights that do not transit Asia.
Sucks, but it is what it is.
