with the new first class products foreign airlines come up with, why doesn't ua1flyer ditch UA, since they won't even have first class

Because there are some things money can't buy. Good personal relationships, acts of kindness/service, recognition, and when you're someone like him who flies as much as he does, I'm sure there are countless perks that he gets that are undisclosed.

If I recall correctly, he had a plane named after him? Is that true? I mean, can you say Singapore Airlines will do that? How cool is that!

[Moderator edit of graphic per FT Rule 12 to discuss the topic and not other members in a personal way.]
But at the end of the day, he only needs to get from point A to point B on a commercial airplane and I feel like if he's exclusively flying UA, many times he's connecting rather than flying n/s on another airline.

[Conforming moderator edit to previous post.] I’m sure he values his time too and when necessary, flies other airlines.

Yes I would be more impressed had he not flew all those miles on UA !

Someone should ask him what his lifetime miles are on his 2nd most flown airline. It would be interesting to know which one and how many he has accumulated.

My guess would be AA since he states specifically that he has flown 1MM+ with them. This is likely more than he flies on any specific *A carrier.... in my opinion.

Yes,over a million on American, and another million or so split between 50 plus airlines over the last 40 plus years. Air Thai might be 3rd place. Love flying with them. On another note for those who were asking, I passed 100,000 PQM last week.(118K)

So you're a 1K already (depending on EQD) after only ~2 weeks?! You're our hero, Tom!

Actually a slow start for him, as he is only on pace for 2.5MM PQM vs. the typical 4MM.

Moderator note.

A recent off-topic discussion has been deleted as it's likely to derail the thread's topic, which is to recognize United's -- by far -- exceptional lifetime GS flyer, who is also a FT member, and approaching (soon at current velocity) 20 MM BIS. Ocn Vw 1K, Moderator.

Cool..... keep us abreast of your 20 MM flight as it approaches for I was in 2A on your LAX-ORD 10 MM flight just behind you if you recall. Love to join your 20 MM flight. BTW my next flight I will have just cleared 1MM with UA, haha.^
