good restaurant at heathrow

hi,
i arrive from milan at lhr t2 (18.00) and i leave from t4 (continental to ewr) next morning.
i spend the night at heathrow hilton.
could you suggest a good restaurant at the airport?

i saw that there are some restaurants in the five terminals of the airport and two or three restaurants in the hilton lobby

I'm not sure about the restaurants in the Hilton lobby, but have had bad experience with room service there. Expensive and poor quality.

Want a great meal at Heathrow? Simple! Just bring takeout with you from Milan.

Go for a Curry in Southall

Southall is a neighborhood next to Heathrow and a very short cab ride. It also has a very large British Asian population and some of the best curries to be had in London. I am including a link to a review by Giles Coren, Restaurant Critic at The Times, talking about the area and his top picks.

Ask the cabbie to take you to THE GREENMAN PUB. Its walking distance to Hatton Cross Station.

Resteraunt in the Hilton lobby is pretty good. Much better than anything else at T1-T4. A bit spendy though.

By time the OP has cleared Immigration, Collected Bags and taken the Tunnel to the Awful Heathrow Connect Train Service to T4..Treked to Hilton via overhead Walkway , checked into room, showered, its going to be 8.30pm.

So choices are Expensive Hilton Restaurants
http://www1.hilton.com/en_US/hi/hote...F7E69133.etc32

or Wetherspoons for a Mediocre but affordable Pub Meal at T4.

Getting a Black Cab from Hilton or T4 for a short unprofitable Local Journey is not going to be easy or cheap, so better to pay up to Hilton.

Now if only there was a Marks and Sparks Take-Away at either T2 or T4 that would be the most cost effective idea.

Even taking the Tube to Hatton Cross for the GreenMan could make it well after 9pm

While not T2 or T2, worth pointing out there is an M&S Simply Food in the T3 arrivals where you could put together a decent cold snack.

I appreciate Marks' food is Good but not IMHO Good enough to Push a Trolly from T2 to T3 then back to Heathrow Connect then Train to T4 up to Departures then Push to Hilton. Easier to get to Hilton shower and endure Westherspoons it should be fairly quite at around 9pm.

Is the Pizza Express on the 2nd floor landside of T2 still there? Not exactly the stuff of gourmet ravings, but I can still fair go a Sloppy Giuseppe.

Personally I would prefer M&S over Pizza Express. Last time I ate there the base was wafer thin and the topping was useless. I was hungry about 90 minutes later.

Sadly no longer appears to be an option...

We've got an overnight booked at the Premier Inn Bath Road, and I'm trying to find some child-friendly options close by. I'll have returned the hire car the night before, so am thinking either walking/busable options, or even a damn good delivery service ;)

Any suggestions? We're in to pretty much any cuisine, just after some decent options...

Looks more promising here:

But obviously I'd be wanting confirmation myself without first hand knowledge. Also places are always subject to change etc.

Southall is the best choice. On the Broadway there are many Indian restaurants, most of which are fairly informal, and therefore child-friendly. It's a fairly interesting cultural experience too.

Bus 105 will take you to Southall from your hotel - get off outside the Old Town Hall. Just walking along the Broadway you will pass masses of restaurants, food sellers, etc.
