shuttle service from Gatwick

Does anyone know of a good company that runs a shuttle service to from Gatwick to London? Is it better to take the bus?

I did check national express (www.nationalexpress.co.uk) but all their Services to London run via Brighton!
Apart from Gatwick express, Southern and Thameslink run services to London. It is quite confsing and you should buy a ticket for the train operator you wish to use.
Gatwick Express and Southern run to Victoria. Southern and Thameslink run services to London Bridge. Thameslink runs through central London

See the sticky thread in this folder for the main options.

There is also a 'Hotelink' (how do you link hotes? or ink hotels?) service, which gets you a Gatwick Express ticket, then you transfer to a shuttle bus at Victoria, that will drive for several hours round the hotels of Central London...

Where in London are you going?

If you put "gatwick into the National Express website it defaults to "Gatwick South" which is where the direct coaches for London leave from. You must have changed it to "Gatwick North".

You get between the two by an internal train type thingy

Don't drive!

Hi there,
From Gatwick, take the train! The trip by car/bus/coach is just long and unpleasant no matter which way you go. The motorway takes you about 1/2 way in and then it just runs out; 3 lanes of motorway goes to 1 lane of what is essentially a wide residential road. It's just not fun.

The Gatwick Express is best for that. Link already posted above.

A lot depends on where you want to end up in London.

Apart from the Gatwick Express there is also the normal Southern Train service to Victoria (and stations inbetween) which takes a maximum of 10 minutes longer or, if you want to be near the City of London or Kings Cross, there is the Thameslink service.

And they are just the direct services. For other places (Waterloo, Charing Cross for example) there aren't direct rail services, but you can change trains which is easier than having to haul your luggage into the Tube system.

Tell us where you want to go & we'll tell you how to get there, London is a big place and there isn't a single answer for everybody

I've flown to LGW several dozen times. I've done National Express once. That sorta says it all. :D
