Heathrow Fast Track
I'm not sure of the best place to list this question. Has anyone used the Fast Track service at Heathrow and, if so, was it helpful. This is for U.S. citizens.
TIA |
Fast track for what?
Secuity? Immigration? Something else? |
There is a recent thread in the U.K. and Ireland forum discussing Fast Track at LHR, so I'll move your question over to that forum.I'll just add that based upon recent experiences with flights originating at HEL and MAD, there is no Fast Track security for connecting passengers at least at T3 and T5, only for originating passengers.
ETA: There is also a thread in the BA forum: |

TIA Is fast track security helpful? Sometime, especially the lines at normal track are long. I find it makes very little difference in t2, t3 it generally seems an improvement, t5 varies. But on the whole if its provided as an airline benefit fine. Is it going to save so much time its worth paying for, for me that is unlikely. Fast track immigration?? Is that even available in lhr? US passport holders can use the egates, any fast track immigration on offer is unlikely to be quicker |
For arriving into T3 from the U.S. on Delta. Does the service actually get you through the immigration and customs lines faster? https://www.heathrow.com/at-the-airp...ces/fast-track

Pre-book Fast Track security Get your journey off to a swift start by sailing through security. Fast Track costs £12.50 per person and can be pre-booked in advance or even on your day of travel. Take the Fast Track Book in advance Select from the available 1-hour windows; this should be no less than 2 hours before your flight. Go to the Fast Track zone Once checked in head to the Fast Track security entrance in your terminal. Show your booking You will have received an email containing your booking confirmation. Show this and your boarding card to the officer at the desk, and they will let you into Fast Track. Fast Track eligibility Fast Track is currently offered by some airlines to passengers travelling in premium cabins, selected frequent flyer card holders and American Express Centurion Card holders. |

I do not believe there is any fast track immigration there are no customs lines in the UK, you walk through a channel, green if you have nothing to declare, red if you have something to declare. So few people have anything to declare there is never a line For immigration, if you are a US passport holder you will be eligible to use the eGates, nothing will be faster than that! in terms of departing passengers , like in the US there is no emmigration passport checks departing the UK is fast track departure security quicker than normal security in t3, slightly, yes Is it worth 12.50gbp, that is debatable. |
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Very helpful information.
