Ex-JER Advice
Any suggestions appreciated…
We are doing an ex-Jersey long haul early April with 24 hours between positioning and the first leg, travelling with a 3 year old. What is the best area to stay in, how should we deal with transfers and any good hotels / restaurants we should get ourselves to? |
I'd book one of the St Brelade hotels, if the sun is shining that way you have the beach to entertain the little one
|
Lots depends on your budget, but I would avoid staying in St Helier - other parts of the island are much more scenic. I’d suggest staying in St Brelade’s Bay (beautiful beach with lots of space for a small person to run around). There are a number of hotels down there (happy to advise on options if you PM me). The Oyster Box restaurant in the bay is good too.
There’s also the Atlantic Hotel overlooking St Ouen’s Bay which is lovely (sophisticated but family friendly with beautiful grounds overlooking the sea) and an excellent restaurant. The island has great restaurants and cafes - it depends on what you are looking for. Taxis are plentiful, and the places I’ve suggested are ten minutes’ drive from the airport. Message me if you need more advice. |

I’ve only (and am doing in three weeks!) a back to back in JER before travelling onwards. Wouldn’t an over night plus positioning and nice dinner negate most of the savings ?!

Another vote for The Atlantic.
Large car park, close to the airport, and decent rooms. M |
Maybe it's just a matter of perspective.
They're doing the trip anyway - why not spend the same amount of money tacking on a little fun adventure along the way. I'll often do things that add stops that erase (or reduce) the savings overall, but add value to my life. Either one is still a win.
