There is more detail published online, but I understand that a significant contributory factor that delayed Bond Street was that it was an entry/exit point to/from the tunnel for construction materials in the central section, and that much of the delay stems from complications arising from the use of the Bond Street shaft to get kit in and out.

I travelled the whole route and visited all new entrances to every station.
I think people are kind of expecting it to be like the tube as it's branded like a tube line. But it was designed exactly to speed up journeys across central London.
It's like Thameslink but that is much slower and feels different because the Thameslink core stations are close together, and lots of branches converge at the necks plus needing to change from overhead wires to third rail.
The long dwell times may be a case of being overprepared. If they were too short the timetable would be thrown off as delays accumulated. Don't know if they were expecting it to be busier thus requiring longer dwell times, but I was surprised at how uncrowded it felt, everyone who wanted to sit was able to the entire day including during the rush hours.
I don't know if it's because the stations and trains are much bigger and/or capacity of transport across London has suddenly doubled(?) and hasn't attracted newer commuters yet / maybe commuting is still reduced from covid effects.

That’s reflective of how busy they expect the stations to be. There could be some adjustments but that has an impact on the timetable and operation of the line and especially the central section. Outside of that trains also need to fit in with the existing network rail timetables.
Crossrail will increased rail capacity by approx 10% when it’s fully running with 24 trains an hour on the central section.
The line has only been running a couple of days so it’s impossible to tell yet if it has increased the number of new commuters. But new commuters are only part of the rational for the line - it was to help reduce overcrowding on the central line.

Any updates on Bond Street? Until it opens, the new line is kind of useless to me. I guess I will always have the Jubilee LOL

“Bond Street and the next phase of the Elizabeth line will be delivered in the autumn of this year.
“By next phase I mean being able to bring trains in from the east, from Shenfield, through to Paddington without having to change at Liverpool Street and from the west, from Heathrow and Reading through the tunnel to Abbey Wood without having to change at Paddington.
“That gets us about 90% of the benefit. That will also happen this autumn. I’m aiming to make that concurrent with Bond Street.”

Last month, TFL Andy Byford said he is looking to open Bond Street at the same time as trains start running through from the other branches, which is still only vaguely said to be Autumn.
The public is yet to see the 'Horizon Line' installation at Bond Street as construction delays at that station means it still is not open yet. TfL commissioner Andy Byford, who was also present at the committee meeting, confirmed that the station will still open in Autumn although not necessarily on the same date that train services from Heathrow, Reading and Shenfield start running into the new, central section.

That's the most recent news I have seen on it.

The Shenfield branch will start to run through to Paddington from the 6th November as well so passengers from the east will be able to switch to LHR trains anywhere on the central section

Early start time and fare changes
Two changes coming soon
from Monday 5th September service will start from 5.30 rather than 6.30
https://www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles...-monday-57172/
From Sunday 4th September all TFL fares between LHR Zone One and vice versa will be charged at the peak rate rather than split depending on the time of travel. This is an increase of Ł2 for a single trip. However daily and weekly fare capping is still in place so not all trips will cost more.
