Any update on the Inverness Airport Railway Station at Dalcross?

Hi all,

Online I found Inverness Airport is due to have a railway station opened serving it at Dalcross by 2019.

Does anyone have any updates regarding this?

If a railway station opened there with good connections to Aberdeen, it would be a good alternative for me as a lot of long haul flights out of INV are cheaper due to flights out of there being tax exempt.

December 2019 was an ambition, but I think there is no chance it'll be achieved.
No construction has started, so I cannot see any chance of it being ready (and signed off) in December.
Furthermore, the December timetable change is all but agreed by now, and there are no changes in timetables that would indicate any service at a new station.

Ahhh how disappointing to hear!

I wondered if they had started construction yet, Kintore the other station due to be built has had construction started but opening pushed back to May 2020.

Reading the project page on the Network Rail project site, it looks to me that the current phase of work is only enabling capacity for new stations, rather than actual construction - but looking on Network Rail's A2I twitter feed, Kintore construction is full stream ahead (ahem!) so fingers crossed for Dalcross too.
