Do I take it that there are currently no improvements at MAN security?

I gave up on AA out of T3 a while ago after some horrendous experiences at "fast track" and haven't been back since.
However, I am looking at a flight to AUH on EY which I understand is T1 - 08:00 departure.
Is T1 any better than T3 (surely can't be worse?)

My experience is that the problem originates from management so it is bad at all terminals.

They seem to shout less, and are perhaps more helpful and can occasionally be prepared to show humour. Or perhaps I'm getting mellow

But I was AGAIN sidelined for a search because of a tube of vitamin tablets. "It go flagged as suspicious": but only at Manchester.

Hmm - I think I'll pass, I've been spoilt by the first wing at LHR T5

Thanks for the replies

It's complete luck of the draw. I've had a few more 'good' experiences recently than last year but had the worst one I've ever had last Friday.

That's not correct at all. Travelling weekly through T1 (for 5 years until about 6 month ago) the longest I had to wait was about 10 minutes - with FastTrack.

Oh, and MAN is a joy compared to my last 2 flights abroad.

JFK - T4 - Not allowed to check in until 2.5 hours before the flight. No food/drink outlets or toilets before checkin. Once checked in, huge queues for security. Even with FastTrack it took 30 minutes. Then a crowded bus to the plane. Lovely. And of course, the bog standard meal that cost $130.

PMI - Absolutely packed, and they had the AC set to 27 degrees, so sweltering. Terrible signage - followed the signs to the lounge only to find it closed months ago.

The first time in this decade when I had to do an SAS to Virgin transit at MAN was enough to make me know the routing was going to be one I would avoid even in favor of LHR.

The transit security was nearly empty when I arrived but the slowest I’ve ever had it take for a regular screening anywhere. The staff was such that it had me thinking that even LHR T5 security screeners can be considered a friendly, more exciting and understanding lot when compared to their MAN equivalents. The airline security contractor process at MAN was such a mess that Mickey Mouse could do it better with his eyes, ears and mouth shut. And the lounges used that day reminded me of being worse than some bad and dated Aeroflot and TAROM-used lounges in former Commie states.
