Heathrow terminal rail transfers question

Hello everyone,
I am flying into LHR T2 next week and staying overnight at the Hilton T4.
I want to catch the free TFL rail transfer from T2 to T4.
To reach the rail station, do i have to get out of arrivals and walk across into those lifts near the carpark at the front ?
And does the station have signs which indicate where to catch the TFL Rail service ? (I don't want to catch the wrong train service)
Thank you.

You follow signs for Heathrow Express - the inter terminal shuttle uses the same station.
You need to obtain a ticket at the station from the machine near the barriers. The ticket is free, but you need the ticket to get into the platform.
There are signs and announcements to tell you where the next train is going to, so as long as you look for the train announced as T4, you'll be fine.

Thanks a lot for the reply
I do have an Oyster card too, which i understand can be used for free when transferring between terminals. But it is good to know that you have the free ticket option too.

Yes, if you have oyster, that will work too, and there will be zero charge for this trip.

I must say I find it far easier to just hit the button for a free ticket and keep hold of it for 5-10 minutes, than to fumble around my wallet for an oyster or bank card while managing a heavy bag. If I was more organised I would get out my oyster in the lift but...

When I was at the TFL/HEX station by the Central Bus Terminal a few Sundays ago, there was a human agent at the turnstiles handing out free passes to use for the Terminal 4 train. Be sure to keep the pass handy after boarding as you will need it to swipe out at Terminal 4. The train was running on a 30 min schedule that day so you might want to have an alternate plan on hand in case you are time-constrained.
