Rail website...

In Japan, they have a website called Hyperdia http://www.hyperdia.com/ which is really useful to find rail connections. Ie you put place of origin and destination and it will spit out 5 alternatives for you. subway to skinkansen etc.

Is there a similar website/ android app for the UK. For example I need to go from Fulham Broadway (a tube station ) to White Hart Lane ( an overground station). what will i have to do to get there?

For London and around, as your journey is, the best bet is www.journeyplanner.org

Outside London, the amateurish looking www.transportdirect.info covers all forms of public transport, and is surprisingly good, but can miss engineering alterations. For mainline rail only, you're better off at www.nationalrail.co.uk.

National rail will give you tube routings but I'm not sure how reliable their timings are. Deutschebahn.de is good for above ground although it doesn't know Fulham Broadway which suggests it may not know a lot of underground only stations.

Bahn.de also doesn't get engineering updates, so use with caution at the weekends.

Apologies to Ichinensei for hijacking the thread a bit, but is there a website a bit like the BA97 calendar where you can record and store details of your rail journeys?

On iPhone, try the Tube Tamer app: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tube...558106521?mt=8

This uses the same data as the TfL journey planner, so it takes into account line closures, engineering work, etc. Very easy and quick to use. There's probably something similar for Android, too. Unfortunately it only works for Greater London and around.

Other than Google Maps and the TransportDirect site that Stut mentioned (both of which have their limitations), there isn't really a good transport planner app/site that works throughout the UK, yet.

There's this one (paid service):

Journeys within Greater London and the nearby area can use www.tfl.gov.uk.

I'm not sure I knew it until stut posted it, but journeyplanner.org is actually an official alternate URL to get to the TfL Journey Planner site.

Google Maps has some, but not all, of the UK covered. Their London public transport directions are sourced from TfL data, and do seem to know about service changes, but it's not quite smart enough to route you around them in the way that the TfL site will.
