Have to agree with this - but provided you come in summer you could still see a reasonable amount because some of the colleges have very beautiful exteriors. You just wouldn't get to go inside. There are nice pubs too. Not sure what time things like the deer park close.

Keble isn't very central though and it would be a right trek from the bus station with luggage. You could probably find a college room more centrally though provided you came in the holidays (doubt you'd get one during term)

Thanks for the many responses, we are on an award J ticket that only allows a less than 24 hour stopover. We would love to fly standby from Warsaw on the late BA flight July 10. AA said if BA allowed it there would be no effect on our LHR-JFK flight July 12; however they were not very hopeful. AA think's BA will simply say no and make us fly on July 11. I'll inquire over on the BA forum.
