Exit control London Heathrow and API
I have been flying in and out of the UK and noticed that exit control desks that check passports have not been manned (especially at terminal 3) for ages. However BA has merged some flights from terminal 4 to terminal 3 and in addition completely renovated terminal 3 and according to their website http://www.ba-sbc.com/be/all-news/ne...movebkksinsyd/ these desks are now manned...does anyone know if this is true?
And the new API (advanced passenger information) requires passengers to provide advanced info before traveling to selected international countries - http://www.ba-sbc.com/be/all-news/ne...rolloutupdate/ Is this only for BA flights or all airlines that have flights departing/arriving to and from these countries? |
My, you've been busy today, asking pretty much the same question in about 4 posts. I responded to one of them about US API.
As your question in this forum is not just about the US, BA tells us that it is obliged to collect info for transmission to relevant countries. I'm on a slow connection at the moment and haven't checked the link you quote but I know that BA does list the countries on its website. |
The desks in T3 have been manned on-and-off at various times. Certainly they were manned the last time I went through there a couple of months ago.
API is required for certain countries, and it doesn't matter who you fly - they will be required to provide the same information. |
