Two Giant Steps Forward in the TWA-American Airlines Integration

American and TWA expand 'More Room Throughout Coach' to the TWA Fleet And Unveil a TWA Transition Livery.

TWA and American Airlines today are unveiling a new look and a new cabin configuration that will change the way TWA passengers see and feel about their favorite airline.

The airlines today introduced American's ``More Room Throughout Coach'' seating arrangement to the TWA fleet and announced that ``More Room Throughout Coach'' will be available on almost all TWA aircraft by September.

The ``More Room''-configured aircraft put into service today also sported a dramatic new exterior design featuring elements of both the American and TWA aircraft liveries.

The reconfigurations began this week on three modification lines at TWA's Kansas City maintenance base. TWA's McDonnell Douglas MD-80s, Boeing 717s,and Boeing 757s will be converted by Labor Day, TWA says.


Boeing 767-300s will be modified at the carrier's Los Angeles hangar. Work on the 767s should be done by October.


The carrier's DC-9s, which will be parked by mid-2002, will not be reconfigured.
