TWA has a decent fare sale fromt the West Coast to LGW. The rules state you can't fly on flights 3000==>4000. All of the flights into STL with decent transfer times are in this range. All other flights (2000==>2999) arrive in the early to late morning---this translates into a 7 hour plus layover time.

The fare difference is over $200 if you do not want the long layover. This makes no sense when I can fly any other airline (including AA) for the lower price.

Why would anyone fly TWA with rules like this????

You have me very much confused here. I see the rule in the fare ($397?) SEA-LGW SLXTW70, but am having no problem booking this with easy, convenient connections. I can only assume you're trying to do this on AA.com where you're running into troubles because AA codeshares are assigned numbers in that range. So, basically, you're going to have to give up your online booking bonus to get this. Or just book through TWA.com and use your AAdvantage number on the flights. Here is what I was able to book at Travelocity.com
