Got free upgrade with DFW-STL
 
I thought you have to buy the upgrade..but was upgraded this morning, I asked how much it is...the agent looked at me funny and said "it's free you cheapo" ok he didn't say cheapo.

I think i paid full fare for this one...now TWA will upgrade elites with Y fare?

That's correct, Y and B fares are upgradeable without paying additional for all Aviators frequent flyers. As you already know Elite and below (AA Gold) pay depending on mileage for fare classes below that. Upgrades remain free in all fare classes for Elite 1 (Platinum) and Platinum (EXP).
