Advance upgrades with AAdvantage Platinum?

Advance upgrades with AAdvantage Platinum?
I'm going to be flying STL-SEA over Labor Day and currently hold a TW Elite and an AA Platinum card.
I know TWA is offering free upgrades to AA elite flyers based on their level. Previously, the upgrades were done at the airport day of departure only.
Is it now possible to call TWA within the appropriate window (72 hours in my case) to get the complimentary upgrade?

I think I read in this month's AA statement that you could call the appropriate AA desk (in your case the AA Platinum Desk) and that they would make a note and process the upgrade at the appropriate hour.

Forget what AA said on the email, TWA will only give you the upgrade at check-in
