Class Y

I want to know if Class Y is full fare coach, and isn't it automatically upgraded to first?

I have a class Y ticket but have a seat in coach, wondering if I could call TWA and get myself a seat in first.

It depends on the route. TWA offers (offered?) YUP fares on most routes (except non-stops to/from St. Louis). However, if a YUP fare is not offered, you cannot get a first class seat without paying to upgrade.

This is similar to Northwest's ConnectFirst fares.
