AA Clarifies Its Policy for Accepting TWA Ambassadors Club Memberships

American said it will accept Ambassadors Club memberships for those customers who purchased memberships on or before today (March 6). The offer will not apply to those who purchase Ambassadors Club memberships after today.

You've got to wonder how they would know when the card was purchased, but it does make sense (as it is much cheaper to buy a TWA card now, so why would somebody want to purchase an AA card?).

Too bad they haven't (yet) changed their mind on lifetime cards.

How, then, can the TW website make this statement?:

"In the last few weeks you have read and heard a lot of news about TWA. As an Ambassadors Club® member, you can rest assured that the news is very good and getting better every day."

It's a stupid statement. I hear they may be reconsidering the announced policy.
