Ok, so the press release says you must have same day ticket for access to Admiral's Club with Ambassador's Club card. Here's how to swing it if you really want to....

Just buy a one way full fare ticket and carry it around with you. Have it on hand as your same day ticket, but never use it. Refund it at any time!

OR...

Make a reservation but don't buy the ticket. If agent asks you to produce ticket, say you aren't buying until later.

Question is, do they refund you by means of a credit to your credit card, or do they issue you a voucher? Those darned vouchers are more trouble than they're worth.

If the ticket is full-fare/ refundable, they will refund it.

Easier way. I have often needed day of flight admission. I found having a flight jacket with a boarding pass (any old one) sticking out of my pocket in obvious view is all I need. They assume I am on a flight of the day. Works about 90% of the time.
