Miles on Code Share with Tarom
Hello,
I've booked a leg with TK for OTP-IST-DOH. First leg is operated by RO. I am gold in both SkyTeam (through AF/KL) and Star Alliance (through A3). What's the best way to get the XP/status/miles and benefits from both? Should I not add any FF number and have them do it at the desk in OTP for Tarom and then in IST at the Turkish Airlines transfer desk or is there a better way? Thanks! |
For the OTP-IST leg you will not get anything, irrespective of what / when you add as FFN.
This is what TK website says: You can earn Miles on Codeshare flights operated under the TK flight number by Star Alliance member airlines or Miles&Smiles program partner airlines. However, you cannot earn Miles on Codeshare flights operated by airlines that are not Miles&Smiles program partners. For detailed information about Miles&Smiles program partner airlines click here. Clearly, as mileage credit in *A is based on the operating carrier, no miles will be credited to Miles+Bonus as the flight, although sold under a TK flight number, is not operated by a *A carrier. Finally, as is normally the case with Flying Blue, and as stated on the website, no miles will be credited to FlyingBlue as this is not marketed as RO flight. _ P.S. Forgot to mention the obvious, as long as your IST-DOH leg has TK flight number and is operated by TK, you may credit this to your Miles+Bonus account as elaborated on their website. _ |
