Serious trouble with making payment over the phone

The stupid website wont let me book ticket for me and my wife. It will throw the below error and would not let me even search for 2 passengers

"The first award ticket can only be issued under your name. If you want to have it issued for a loved one, please contact the nearest sales office."

So I called customer service to book 2 tickets on a simple single star alliance J leg. The agent was able to build a reservation but couldnt process the payment after entering card number over the IVR 3 different times. He said the reservation is on hold for 48 hour and asked me to call after 2 hours. Seats are gone from the website which I think is somewhat good. I called after 6 hours and a new agent has the same problem, tried 3 times and nothing. Asked me again to call after 2 hour. I call after 6 hours and this new agent says nothing can be done. Wont even attempt to take payment. HUCA, new agent tries 4 different times on 4 different cards and no good. Transfers me to another department and this guy is super rude. Just says system down and asks me to call tomorrow.

Is this even a real company? I mean, a million/billion dollar company cant even take a payment and issue a ticket? I seriously dont know what to do!!

Try contact your local TK ticket office for assistance/payment or the TK ticket office in the country of origin.

Another satisfied M&S newbie!

Rather that repeat all of the same advice and/or snarky comments, I imagine that this thread can be merged with the main Star Alliance award ticket thread. Everything You need to know about booking Star Alliance awards with Miles&Smiles

Contact your local ticket office if possible, they are very nice and helpful at least the ones I deal with.
One thing you have to know about the M&S program is; there are some incredible sweet spots around but in order to utilise them, you have to look at TK not as much as an airline, as a part time job to make it work. 😉

It happened to me and I tried calling 2 hours later and it went through.

It depends on the ticketing office - I know CPH charges 350 DKK if they are going to charge you.

You called 800-874-8875 (US number)? Or COH local office?

I called the number you wrote. CPH office told me that they would charge me if I went there to pay. I doubt that they will waive the fee for this.

Why don't you try the ORD office?

You are right. They no longer pick up the phone. The only way to contact them is to send them an email or drop by a ticketing office.
