Technical issues when booking with TK
For a month, I am not able to book anything I have in mind. Agents see availability (and so do I), when I feed them with flight details-everything is available for redemption, yet the system doesn`t allow them to make a reservation. I asked the agent to send a ticket to their IT department to look at the issues, but the say "unfortunately, that is no an option". They also don`t have supervisors/managers to assist further. If they don`t know about the issues, how are they planning to fix it?
Also, I find it strange that not all destinations with flights operated by TK are on the website. Any suggestions on how to make a reservation with TK miles if neither agents nor website can create a reservation despite the flights are available? |
If the call center doesn't work, you could contact a sales office or visit one in person which would be a more effective way to book these awards.

As you will notice from several other posts in this forum this is very common issue when trying to book TK Star Alliance awards. AFAIK so far no solution or way to book has been found.
Let me guess, are you trying to book domestic UA flights (with credit card points that you recently transferred to TK M&S)? |
Correct. UA is one of the legs (not just a domestic flight), and either TK or other partners are the rest. Sometimes agents can`t/don`t know how to look for Star Alliance availability and only know how to find it with TK. Even on consumer`s version there is a separate section for that. But even if part of the journey can be booked online by a consumer, not all TK-operated destinations are on the website.

By any chance, are you trying to book a mixed cabin itinerary? If so, TK Miles&Smiles doesn't allow multi-cabin awards on the same ticket.
That might be the problem if some agents are able to see availability but could not price. |

Visit sales office? Maybe if one in Istanbul, that is an option, but we are in the US, thus it is not possible (maybe possible in NYC, but not for majority of people with TK miles). I called the sales office, and they couldn`t do anything. It is even more frustrating that those flights are also available redeeming other Star Alliance miles.

There is a sales office in every city and airport TK flies to in the US. Of course that doesn't cover the entire country but there are a lot of options.

Yeah, we have had too many similar reports from (new) TK M&S members trying to book domestic UA flights but ending up banging their heads against a brick wall when trying to book with TK miles.

Agents say it is possible to book mixed cabin, but they can`t do it. What is the official rule? I saw that it was possible, but not doable? Trying to book business on TK an economy on UA

In the past, I was not able to book a mix class itinerary award ticket.
