Earning miles after upgrading economy ticket to business
Dear all,
I’m sure it was asked before, but was not able to locate the answer
recently took a flight from IST to DFW, got upgraded using EP voucher in the airport from T class to C class
However I received ~3000 miles for this flight, it seems that C class was not taken into account.
Is it correct? for any reason I thought that upgraded tickets provide new class respective amount of miles

This is correct.
If you upgrade a leg either via miles, an upgrade voucher or via cash with one of the discounted upgrade offers; you would receive miles according to your original booking class.

I believe I have been credited miles for biz after being upgraded due to eco oversold. Is this how it generally works or was I just being lucky (ticket reissued in new booking class etc)? Thank you!
