Just got off PTY-IST-ZRH. We were supposed to fly IST-FRA, but the PTY flight was an hour delayed, so arrival in IST was 30 minutes before the departure of our connecting flight.

I basically had the same experience as Tomtom in reply 137. I've had better and more food in economy class on other carriers. The peach juice I had for lunch was like the type you give to a small kid. The orange juice I had for breakfast was better. I asked for snacks, and they had none, but I got two breakfast meals instead.

Here are the meals. Lunch:

Breakfast:

It's a while since I was on TK, and I was surprised that they were so talkative. They had tons of messages about covid and everything else. The worst was that every time there was some turbulence, they had to SCREAM out over the speakers that the captain had turned the seatbelt sign on. It was probably the loudest announcements I've ever heard on a plane. I woke up twice because of that, even though I was already wearing a seat belt. That was a huge minus.

Thanks for sharing these images with us RedChili ,

For the turbulence announcement part, I always find TK a bit awkward as in other airlines, instead of an announcement through the loudspeaker, cabin crew individually tours the cabin and only disturbs the passenger who hasn't fastened their seatbelts.

Same for the pre-landing preparations, while other carriers manage to prepare the cabin 10-15 minutes before arrival, in TK, it's always 30-40 minutes before arrival where the cabin crew asks to put your seat into the upright position, collect headphones, etc...

I know both of the TK policies that I stated was implemented after the AMS crash, although I don't know what's the actual reasoning behind these moves.

As they're now handing out amenity kits, would anyone know if those are provided on the relatively short daytime flight LHE-IST?

6+ hour flight in J. No amenity kit, no bedding. Only Y style small blanket available.

One snackbox after departure and one Y paper bag prearrival.

Thats disappointing :/ it seems they are only handing Amenity Kits for 8 hr plus flights leaving from IST.. I heard some flights leaving outbound dont have them even on the longer flights..

Correct - I haven’t had them on either of my SFO-IST flights.

I flew SFO - IST last friday, and they did hand out the amenity kits. Still cold/ boxed food though.

According to Havayolu101;

Starting from today ( 16 November ), hot meals have returned for long-haul Business Class only.
Still, no information when hot meals would resume on Economy Class or on shorter routes.

No additional details available about the style of service and whether real cutlery is used, the appetizer & dessert trolley service resumes, etc...
A reminder that the image on the website is from a pre-COVID flight as it still has onboard literature contents.

Finally some good news. Lets see what I get on my IST-CUN flight end of December

I am still wondering if there is tea or coffee in long-haul Business class?
It would be really funny if they served hot meals but not tea or coffee. :D

Unfortunately, the government just announced new lockdown measures: curfew after 8pm during the weekend, restaurants only takeout/delivery. I am not sure if this will affect catering but it may affect my planned trip on Nov 27.

Yes, I mentioned this in the appropriate thread and when there is further information on it, I would share the most recent information over there.
We are still waiting for the circular notice ( genelge ) from the Ministry of Interior.
