Any way to avoid the $25 cancellation charge
 

I have a trip booked on Turkish business for 4 tickets to Turkey this summer (early August). Paid 180000 miles + $765 to book Turkish business one way. I want to cancel our plans but wanted to know if there is anyway to avoid the $100 ($25*4) cancellation charge. The flight is still on schedule as of this writing.

Is this possible with the multitude of waivers in effect right now?

I am presuming a US departure because of your MP memebrship. But, that might not be the case. If you are not departing the US, then the resolution might be different.

If you cancel now, you will pay the $100.

If you wait and TK either cancels or substantially changes any of your flights, you will be entitled to a full refund with no penalty. If TK does not, you can cancel at the last minute and pay the $100.

That's what I thought. Guess the bottom line is to wait till the very end. Yes US departure.

The same exact question was asked before in the forum and the answer hasn't changed.

If you have booked with Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles miles, they are not waiving any kind of cancellation fees on voluntary transactions.
Also, Turkish Airlines does not have any waivers for cancellations, only the change fee would be waived which still is $25 pp.

Obviously, if your flight has been canceled by them, they would waive the $25 fee.

Given the long delay in getting your $ back, as well as any mileage expiry implications, you might just want to pay the cancellation fees.
